We do collect GPA data for our statistics, though!

Additionally, all Scholars (program alumni) receive invitations to join our Scholar Portal for exclusive internships, jobs, and workshops.

 What programming languages are taught?
All Star Code is primarily based around web development, using technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

I already know how to code. Am I eligible?
Yes! If you have prior coding experience, you may find the program even more rewarding. Contact admissions@allstarcode.org with specific questions about your skills.

Can I join the Summer Intensive if I'm not in high school yet?
Our program is specifically designed for students in high school. If you're not yet eligible, or aren't sure about applying just yet, please check out our virtual coding challenge, Crack the Code!

I don't go to a traditional school (home schooled, not attending, etc.), am I still eligible?
Yes! Applicants who are not currently attending high school will still be considered if they are 15, 16 or 17 years old. When filling out the form, please indicate your situation under the question "What is the name of your current high school?"

How can I improve my chances? What does it take to be an All Star?
All Stars:
  • Respect others
  • Demonstrate logical thinking
  • Demonstrate growth mindset
  • Look up terms they're not familiar with (like "Growth mindset" )
  • Embrace "Celebrate Failure" = are hungry to learn by stepping out of their comfort zone
  • Embrace "Dare Greatly" = are ready to take risks
  • Embrace "Tell Your Story" = can convey ideas clearly and see value in doing so
  • Uplift others around them

In addition to this, we encourage you to participate in our virtual coding challenge, Crack the Code! It serves as a great introduction to some of our Summer Intensive topics.

 What is your attendance policy?
The Summer Intensive is a rigorous and fast-paced program that requires full commitment. Your success and the success of your peers depend on your consistent engagement and participation. To ensure every student can make the most of this opportunity, we maintain the following attendance policy:
  1. First Week Attendance

    • Attendance is mandatory for the first week.
    • Missing the first day of the program will result in forfeiting your seat.
    • Arriving more than 30 minutes late on Day 1 will also result in forfeiting your seat.
  2. Absences and Lateness

    • Students are allowed up to three absences during the program.
    • Students must attend Office Hours to make up for any missed material.
    • Three instances of lateness (arriving after the scheduled start time) will count as one absence.
  3. Communication and Accountability

    • If you anticipate being absent, communicate with the All Star Code team in advance to avoid penalties.
    • Parents/Guardians will be notified after each absence to ensure accountability.
  4. Zero-Tolerance Policy for Week 1

    • Due to the importance of the first week, any unexcused absence or lateness during this period will result in dismissal from the program.
The Summer Intensive is a unique and rewarding experience, but it requires dedication. We are here to support you every step of the way—so bring your focus, commitment, and enthusiasm to make the most of this opportunity!

 What is your expulsion policy?
All Star Code is committed to fostering a supportive, inclusive, and professional environment for all participants. To maintain the integrity of our program and ensure a positive learning experience, the following guidelines are strictly enforced. Students may be expelled from the program for any of the following reasons:
  • Attendance Violations:

    • Missing any day during the first week of the program without prior clearance from the ASC team.
    • Accruing three unexcused absences. For each absence, a student’s Parent/Guardian will be informed, and the student must attend Office Hours to catch up on missed material.
    • Three instances of lateness (defined as not being present by the scheduled start time) equal one absence. A student who logs in more than 30 minutes late to their virtual classroom is considered absent.
  • Project & Communication Requirements

    • Failing to submit weekly project assignments and being unresponsive to outreach efforts via phone or email.
  • Behavioral Violations:

    • Using abusive, intimidating, or discriminatory language toward instructors, peers, or program guests.
    • Exhibiting disrespectful behavior, including interrupting or undermining others, being disruptive in class, or disregarding program guidelines.
    • Engaging in harassment, intimidation, or discrimination based on age, sexual orientation, gender identity, ethnicity, race, religion, or disability.

 Commitment to Respect and Safety
All Star Code is dedicated to maintaining a respectful, harassment-free learning and work environment. Any behavior that compromises the safety or dignity of others—including verbal abuse, intimidation, or willful sabotage—will not be tolerated.

Note: Students who are expelled from the Summer Intensive program are ineligible for participation in future ASC programs.

For questions or concerns regarding this policy, please contact the ASC team at admissions@allstarcode.org.
